Fred Radix is a French author, director, actor, whistler, singer, and composer.
In 1986, while studying visual arts and considering a career as a comic book artist, he discovered music and became the singer and lyricist for a rock band.
In 1989, he became a singer-songwriter and formed a rock-comedy band, “Les Mange-Cailloux,” right in the midst of the alternative rock era.
In 1993, the band became a street theater troupe and toured for 12 years, producing 6 original shows and performing over 600 times in a dozen countries.
Since 1998, Fred RADIX has been creating theatrical and musical performances under his own name, which he writes, composes, directs, and performs: “Récital à domicile” (1999), “Strapontin” (2002), “Le jumelage” (2003), “Une chanson derrière la tête” (2005), “Le meilleur ami du chien” (2008), “Le dortoir” (2008), “Are you Radix” (2010), “Récital Man Show” (2012), “Le Siffleur” (2013), “Bach à sable” (2017), “Le siffleur siffle Satie” (2017), “La claque” (2020).
In 2013, he created the show “Le Siffleur,” which celebrated its 650th performance in 2021 and has been performed numerous times in Paris:
-At Bobino for three performances
-At L’Européen for three months in 2018
-At the Grand Point-Virgule for three months in 2019
-At the Palace in 2020 to celebrate the show’s 500th performance
The show has also performed abroad and has been translated into Spanish and English (Quebec, Taiwan, Germany)
Since 2015, he has composed music for the following films:
- *Le retour du Héros* (2018) by Laurent Tirard, starring Mélanie Laurent and Jean Dujardin
- *Papi Sitter* (2019) by Philippe Guillars, starring Gérard Lanvin and Olivier Marchal.
- *Littoralement* (2018), a short film by Lisa Sallustio
Throughout his career, Fred Radix has performed in over 2,500 shows, including notable appearances at the Festival du Chaînon manquant, the Festival d’Avignon Off, the Coup de Coeur Francophone in Quebec, and in Paris (Bobino, Café de la Danse, L’Européen, La Cigale, Le Point-Virgule, Olympia, and Les Trois Baudets).
25 years on tour, with stops in Senegal, Madagascar, Singapore, Taiwan, Latvia, Quebec, Belgium, Spain, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and more…
Since 2000, he has directed musical and theatrical productions featuring: Amélie-les crayons, Lili Cros and Thierry Chazelle, Anne Sylvestre and Agnès Bihl, Evasion, Thibault Defever, Cie des Décatalogués, Carton compagnie, Yvan Marc, Samarabalouf, and others…
At the same time, he began performing with other theater companies: “Friends” with H3P, “TV(I) Monde” with the Cie des Décatalogués, “Piccolo ma” with the Cie des chercheurs d’air… He also appeared in film (Nicolas Boone’s “B.U.P.”) and television (Williams Crépin’s “Les Nuits d’Alice”).
